Russell Van Why passed away on peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the age of 73. He was born in Bloomingdale, NJ in 1946 and graduated from Butler High School in 1964. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served honorably for two tours in Vietnam, 1966 to 1969. He worked as a tradesman his entire life, spending the last 20 years for Kuiken Brothers in Midland Park, NJ.
Russ loved golf, cars and casino trips, but mostly he was a loving husband to his wife Sharyn (Sherrie) and step father to his step daughter Jennifer, who pre-deceased him. He was a loving grandfather to Jennifer and her husband Joe's 3 children, Connor, Owen and Nolan.
He is also survived by his two sons, Ryan and Gregory and their children, his sister Pat and brother in-law Tommy (Bedell) and his niece Patty (Alluzzo) and nephew TJ, as well as numerous friends.
Services will be held on Sunday, February 16th from 3 pm to 7 pm at Scanlan's Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.
