Obituary of James Francis Lucyk
LUCYK, James Francis, 57, a life time resident of Pompton Lakes and devoted husband of Catherine of 33 years, passed away unexpectedly on July 15,2019
He was the son of Dr. Frank M Lucyk and Anna B Lucyk. James graduated from Pompton Lakes High School in 1979 and earned a Bachelors degree in Economics from Boston University in 1983. He was the owner and operator of J&B Services for over 34 years.
A proud Eagle Scout, Jim was one of only 4 percent of Boy Scouts to earn this rank. A talented musician, Jim played base guitar with The 3M Band for 38 years. He was an accomplished musician with other instruments including the organ and saxophone. Above all else, Jim was a family man whose greatest joy in life was spending time with those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and especially missed by his Golden Retriever, Lucky.
James is survived by his wife Catherine (Brown); his daughters, Katelynn Lucyk and Ashley Lucyk; his mother, Anna B Lucyk; his sisters, Dr. Mary Ann Millar and Karen Voight ; his nieces and nephews, Anna and Elizabeth Millar, Andrew, Matthew and Lauren Voight; Sarah Dayton, and Abby and Andrew Brown. He was predeceased by his father, Frank.
Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am Monday at St. Mary's RC Church, Pompton Lakes, NJ. Entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
