William Pappas, 79, of Lincoln Park, died Sunday, May 5, 2019.
Born in Nafpaktos, Greece and raised in Bronx, NY, was the son of the late, Nicholas and Catherine (Anagnostos) Pappas. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division.
Marrying Fay Tsotas, the couple raised their 2 children in Lincoln Park. He retired after working as a machinist for Paterson Canning Company and Crown Roll Leaf.
William is lovingly survived by his wife of 51 years, Fay; his daughter, Catherine Coppola and her husband, Michael; his grandchildren, Christopher and Gregory; his son, Nicholas Pappas and his wife, Amelia; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew. His brothers, James Pappas and his wife, June; John Pappas and his wife, Eva; nieces and nephews.
William was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Korgialas and Bessie Elefantes; his nephew, Nicholas Pappas; and his grandson, Michael Coppola.
Viewing from 4 to 8 pm on Tues., May 7 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am on Wed. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Clifton.
