Obituary of Jaclyn Snel
Jaclyn G. Snel, 89, a longtime resident of Kinnelon, passed away on February 23, 2019.
Jaclyn was the daughter of the late Louis and Charlotte (Ramsey) Geerts. She married the love of her life, Walter (Hap) Snel, in 1951, and was blessed with 61 years together until his passing in 2013. She was a loving and caring woman whose generosity was unmatched. People were drawn to her quick wit and incredible sense of humor, and there wasn't a restaurant or store she could enter without running into a friend. She had a love for animals and volunteered for many years at the Kinnelon Library where she was also a member of the Board of Trustees. Jaclyn was employed for many years as an advertising executive at CGW in Butler, New Jersey and in her spare time enjoyed reading, knitting, birdwatching and spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Jaclyn is survived by her children, Stephen Snel and his wife Pattie, Garrett Snel and his wife Nancy, and Jill LaMarca and her husband Robert; her sister, Judith Livolsi; her grandchildren, Michael LaMarca and his fiance Jessica Schultz, Christopher Snel and his wife Brianna, Stephen LaMarca and his wife Nora, Dana Snel and her fiance James Palestri, Sara Snel, Melissa Brandofino and her husband Nicholas, and Lauren Snel and her fiance Jaime Vasquez; and her great granddaughter, Isla Snel. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter Snel; her sister, Marjorie Swanton, and her grandson, Daniel Snel.
Funeral services for Jaclyn were private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors, the ASPCA or HDAP 8 Main Street Flemington NJ 08822 in memory of Jaclyn Snel to benefit the Daniel Snel Memorial Scholarship.
