Obituary of Susan L. Myron
Susan L. Myron, 61, of Pompton Plains, died Monday, February 4, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Peekskill, NY, Susan was the daughter of Ralph and Eleanor DiMilia. Raised in Peekskill, she graduated from high school there before earning her B.S. from Alfred University, followed by her M.S. from Long Island University. Her education led her to a long career with IBM, where she excelled as a financial analyst.
While working, she met Reston Myron. The couple quickly fell in love, and on November 11, 1989, they married. Settling in Ossining, NY, the couple, along with Reston’s three sons, welcomed their daughter, Rebecca.
Moving to Pompton Plains in 1998, Susan became very active with her children’s activities in Pequannock Township. She served as a Girl Scout Leader, volunteered with the PTA at Holy Spirit School, and tirelessly volunteered her time to her children’s sports interests, especially in Pequannock Little League.
Diagnosed with cancer more than 5 years ago, Susan was determined to fight it as long as she could. She continued working at IBM until just last week, and was finding the strength to try any treatment she could to give her more time with her beloved family and friends. In the end, her passing was quick and peaceful, and her family is grateful for that.
Susan is lovingly survived by her husband, Reston; her children, Robert Myron and his wife Rebecca, Garrett Myron and his wife Jennifer, and Rebecca Myron; her brothers, Dr. Robert DiMilia and his wife Donna, David DiMilia and his wife JoAnn, and James DiMilia and his wife Susan; her brother-in-law, Michael J.
