Evelyn (Lynne) Binder (nee Myron), age 90, previously of Fort Myers, Florida, and then Pompton Plains, N.J., passed away peacefully on January 24, 2019, at her home at Rose Tree Place in Media, PA.
She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Herbert Binder. She is survived by her children Beth McClendon, Amy Binder (John Greenstine), and Steven Binder (Rose Anna); grandchildren Haley McClendon, Lacy McClendon (Kyle Strasser), Daniel Binder (Sally), Jeffrey Binder (Lauren), and Joshua Binder; and great grandchildren Megan Rose, Daniel Scott Jr., and Kiera Maria Binder. She also is survived by her sister, Frances Castellano, and Fran’s children, Jayne Carver (Bill), Lisa Haworth, and Andrew Castellano.
Originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., she and her husband raised their family in Red Bank and Middletown, N.J. She was a homemaker and also worked for several years at Reeds Jewelers, in Red Bank, as a bookkeeper. The couple retired to Fort Myers in 1990, where they enjoyed the beach, friends, and Florida living. After being widowed, she moved to Pompton Plains to be near family. When more care was needed, she moved in late 2018 to Rose Tree Place. Her outgoing and friendly nature made her a favorite of many. Her quick wit, bright blue eyes, and ready laugh will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 5 pm Saturday, February 16 at the funeral home.
