Annie P. Moughty, 83, of Pompton Plains, formerly a longtime resident of Queens, NY, died Saturday, December 1, 2018.
Born in County Longford, Ireland, Annie was the daughter of Daniel and Mary Ellen (nee Hunt) Moughty. Growing up in Ireland, she moved to the United States in 1958, settling in Queens. She held a long career there as a seamstress.
As a New Yorker, she embraced the culture, and became a huge fan of the NY Jets. She also loved the beach, especially when she could get in the water for a good swim. Dancing was also a favorite pastime.
Annie is lovingly survived by her brother, Daniel Moughty; her sister, Philomena Horgan; her nieces and nephews, Sean Moughty, Daniel Moughty, Elizabeth Curtin, Mary Ellen Ill, Daniel Horgan, Neil Horgan, Maureen Horgan, Teresa Horgan, Daniel Quigley, Dennis Quigley, and Catherine Quigley; as well as many great nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held 11 am Monday at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Pequannock. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Butler. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 1-4 pm at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.
