Maryann Vanorden, 72, of Haskell, NJ passed away at her home on October 29, 2018 after a prolonged illness. Born in Paterson, she moved to Haskell in 1969 and resided there the rest of her life. She will be lovingly remembered by family and friends for her hospitality, her generosity, and her love for life. She loved music, and had a particular fondness for Elvis Presley. Maryann was a doting grandmother, known by her grandchildren and by friends’ children as Grammie.
She is survived by her son, Frank (Lisa) Witham, daughter Michelle (Carmine) Marchionda, daughter Jodi (Tim) Faulkner, daughter Diana Witham, seven grandchildren, Carmine, Michael, Zachary, Melissa, Sarah, Nicholas, and Charlie, brother Joseph (Nancy) Hogan, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Vanorden, and her parents, Joseph and Rose Hogan.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home (781 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444). A funeral Mass celebrating Maryann’s life will be held the following day on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 9:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Haskell. Following the service, she will be interred atHoly Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa, NJ.
