Bertha Barrett, of Pequannock, passed away on July 27, 2018.
Born in Paterson, Bertha was the daughter of Mathias and Lena Moers. Marrying Edmund Barrett, the couple raised three children together. A natural-born caregiver, she was always there for those that needed her – and even helped care for her husband and sisters when they struggled with their help. She was a "Mother Bear," who had a warm and caring heart, and knew how to keep her home in nice, tidy order. To top it off, she was a great cook, and she'd spoil her family with her homemade meals.
In addition to caring for her family, Bertha worked as an Assembler for Thomas Adams in Pompton Plains for many years.
She is survived by her children; Charles Barrett, Hope Maglio and Faith Bolton; her grandchildren Emily Harper, Frank Maglio, Dana Polizzi, and Timothy and Tori Barrett; and 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Edmund, and her grandchildren, Douglas, Brett and Greg.
Visiting hours are Sunday from 2-5 pm at M. John Scanlan Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10:30 am on Monday at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Maryrest Cemetery.
