Betty Post, 94, of Pompton Plains, passed away on July 5, 2018.
The daughter of the late Charles and Eva Wagner, Betty was a lifelong resident of Pompton Plains. She was the loving wife of Edward J. Post for 67 years until his passing in 2013. Betty was a longtime and active member of the First Reformed Church, part of the Pequannock Township Golf League, and spent many years volunteering her time on election day at the polls throughout Pequannock Township.
Betty is survived by her children, Bonnie Kish and her husband Ray, Craig Post and his wife Sue, and Ellyn Chetnik and her husband Rich; her grandchildren, Stephanie Carlson and her husband Keith, Dr. Ryan Kish and his wife Marianne, Kelsey Chetnik, and Dan Chetnik; and her great grandchildren, Evan, Brennan and Lauren Carlson, and Brayden Kish. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward, as well as her brother and six sisters.
Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 7 pm Wednesday, July 11 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A memorial service will be held 12 pm Thursday at the First Reformed Church, Pompton Plains.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's memory to the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains or Chilton Medical Center would be greatly appreciated by her family.
