Obituary of James Giacone
James Anthony Giacone, 84, of Clarksboro, passed away on July 3, 2018.
Born in Jersey City, James was a resident of Pompton Plains for over 40 years before moving to Clarksboro 9 years ago. He was a talented musician who played alongside the Dorsey Brothers, Si Zentner, the Glenn Miller Band, and many others. James was also a founding member of NJEA and a teacher, educating many students who went on to become accomplished recording artists.
James is survived by his loving wife, Ines (nee Hirst); his son, James J. Giacone and his wife Claudia; his daughters, Anita Giacone and Christine Barden and her husband Kirt; his brother, Tony Jaconi; his sisters, Julia Puzo, Mary Caruso, and Josephine Esposito; and his grandchildren, Gavin, Kylie, Mia and Allie. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cathie Giacone; his brother, Salvatore Giacone; and his sisters, Millie Jaconetta, Mamie Torre, and Rose Cavigliano.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Saturday, July 7 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 12:30 pm.
