Carolyn, 60 years old, from Pompton Plains, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 after battling brain cancer. She was born on October 16, 1957 in Montclair, New Jersey. Lynn was predeceased by her mother Adrienne, her father Thomas and her brother Richard. She leaves behind her loving daughter Frances and her precious grandson Kaiden.
Lynn was not only known for her kind heart and caring personality, but also for her skills on the basketball court & love for being part of a team. During her senior year at Pequannock Township High School in 1975, Lynn led the Lady Panthers to a Skyline Conference Championship, first Morris County Championship, and an undefeated 15-0 season. She went on to play women’s basketball on an athletic scholarship at Delta State University where she won two back-to-back National Championships.
Lynn’s love for the game did not stop there, in fact it never did. Instead, she passed it down to her daughter Frances, as she coached her on numerous basketball teams over the years. She became a huge part of the youth basketball community in Pequannock Township, and truly loved every minute she spent around the game she herself played so well.
Lynn made such an impact on the lives of so many people, and for those who would like to say goodbye to her, please join us on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 155 West Parkway, Pompton Plains NJ, 07444 from 12pm - 1pm for visitation, directly followed by a 1pm memorial Mass. All are welcome to attend, and we ask that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Juvinelle Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), 125 Maiden Lane, New York, NY10038.
