Obituary of Thelma Baldissard
Thelma M. Baldissard, 97, of Pompton Plains, died at home Monday, February 5, 2018.
Born in Little Falls, Thelma was the daughter of William and Hattie Porter. Raised there, she went to work as a domestic servant and a Beattie factory worker in Little Falls as a teenager.
Marrying Albert Baldissard, the couple settled in Pompton Plains to raise three children. There, they enjoyed gardening together, especially vegetables in the summertime.
With her daughter, Thelma also enjoyed the company of animals, and often would care for the injured animals they would find around their home.
Thelma is lovingly survived by her children, Susan LaManna and her husband, David, Blaise Baldissard and his wife Pat, and Daria Baldissard; her grandchildren, Anthony LaManna and his wife Tesla, Chris Baldissard, and Suzanne Zeke and her husband Mike; as well as her great-grandchildren, Sara, Andreas, Alexis and Gianni, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert, as well as her siblings, Abraham, Sadie, Stella and Della.
Funeral services were held privately at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home in Pompton Plains.
