Obituary of Raymond Bolduc
Raymond D. Bolduc, 98, of Pompton Plains, formerly a longtime resident of Yonkers, NY, died Sunday, December 31, 2017.
Born in Chicopee, MA, he was the son of Adonia and Eugenia Bolduc. Raised in Massachusetts and New Hampshire during the Great Depression, his family moved often, following any jobs they could find. After graduating high school, he served in the Navy during World War II.
While working in Yonkers, he met Anne Chedrick at a USO dance, Six months later, the couple married and settled in the Bronx. Following the birth of their first child, they moved to a larger home in Yonkers, and together raised three children.
A mechanical engineer, Raymond was a longtime employee at Loral Inc. in Yonkers.
Sadly, Raymond was predeceased by his wife in 1973. He continued to live in their home in Yonkers, though, for more than 35 years, moving to Cedar Crest in 2009. There, he enjoyed socializing with his neighbors, playing cards, and taking walks throughout the campus. He also greatly enjoyed the young people that worked as servers in the dining room.
His primary enjoyment, though, was family. He was as lively as his grandchildren at the celebration of his granddaughter's wedding in the summer of 2016, at the age of 97.
Raymond is survived by his children: Diane Gordon and her husband Tim, Bruce Bolduc and his wife Maureen, and Elise McMilllan and her husband Michael; his brother, Claude; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Stewart, Allison Gordon, Kaitlyn Bolduc, Brendan Bolduc, and Joseph Bolduc. He was predeceased by his wife Anne and three siblings.
Visiting hours will be 1-4 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be held 9:30 am Wednesday at the Cedar Crest Village Chapel, 1 Cedar Crest Drive, Pompton Plains. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations in Raymond's memory to the Cedar Crest Village Scholarship Fund (to assist the teenage wait staff with college costs) would be greatly appreciated by the Bolduc family.
