It is with profound sadness and regret that we announce the passing of our mother, Anne Blake Marder (June 4, 1933 to December 24, 2017). Born and raised in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, Anne was a graduate of Briarcliff College, class of 1952. As a young woman, she lived in Manhattan and worked at Rockefeller Center for NBC as an Administrative Assistant, where she often spotted TV and film stars of the day.
She enjoyed traveling, although she could most often be found driving her children to school and extra-curricular events in and around Englewood, NJ, where she lived for more than 50 years, from 1963 to 2014. Mom had a great ear for music, and an eye for art, and she enjoyed going to museums in New York City. She and our father cultivated many lasting relationships in New Jersey and New York, including life-long friendships that they cherished.
The devoted wife of Ira Marder for 53 years, she is survived by her sons, William and John; daughters-in-law, Dominique and Valerie; five grandchildren, Hazel, Alexandra, Gloria, Dean and Whitney; and her brother, Walter Blake.
