George R. Caldaro, Jr. passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010. He was 79.
Born in Carlstadt to George and Agnes Caldaro, Sr., he proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. George married Joan Shanley and the two raised their family in Pompton Lakes. He was employed by Marconi, Inc. in Little Falls as a procurement analyst until his retirement. George was the president of the Traveler's Golf Club and a past Grand Knight of the Marion Council of the Knights of Columbus.
George is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan; his sons, Kevin and Mark; his daughters, Karin Esposito and her husband Joe, Margaret Puget and her husband Albert, Kathleen Conway and her husband John and Mary Spicer and her husband Kurt; his brother Jack Caldaro and his five grandchildren, Kaitlin and Brendan Conway and Ashley, Amanda and Zachary Caldaro.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at St. Mary's Church in Pompton Lakes at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will be private. The family will receive visitors at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Mary's Food Pantry, 17 Pompton Avenue, Pompton Lakes, NJ 07442 would be appreciated by the family.
