James Mitchell Sr., age 95, of Lincoln Park, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Lincoln Park Renaissance Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Belfast, Ireland on December 2, 1910, he immigrated to the United States in 1927. James resided in Lincoln Park for many years and was a member of the First Reformed Church where he served as both Deacon and Elder.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Margaret (nee McNinch).
James is survived by three daughters, Ruth Vail of Savannah, Georgia, Mary Fielitz of Hilton Head, South Carolina and Jeanette Stewart of Lincoln Park; two sons, James Jr. of Little Egg Harbor and Donald of Mobile, Alabama; nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will commence 9 a.m. Monday from the funeral home, and will proceed to a 10 a.m. service at the First Reformed Church in Lincoln Park. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover.
Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the First Reformed Church, 60 Chapel Hill Road in Lincoln Park, NJ 07035 would be appreciated by his family.
