Rita Posimato

Obituary of Rita Posimato

Rita Posimato, 55 of Pompton Lakes, NJ, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on October 18th 2021 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband Peter, sons Peter & Nicholas, Mother Maureen Milazzo, Sisters Maureen Piliere & Loretta Westling, brother-in law Lance Westling, Brothers Vinny & James Milazzo and twenty nieces and nephews.

Rita truly lived for her family and friends. She found great joy in giving to others, was always there to lend a helping hand, and never expected anything in return. Christmas was always her favorite holiday; she even picked up jobs as a young child delivering newspapers and shoveling snow in order to put presents under the tree for her younger siblings. Rita loved any outdoor activity; she enjoyed walking, riding bicycles, playing sports, gardening, and traveling. She had a super competitive spirit, a positive attitude, warm heart, and a zest for life that was genuinely infectious. Rita is greatly loved and will be missed by all who crossed her path.

Visitation will be held at M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, 781 Newark Pompton Turnpike in Pompton Plains, NJ on Friday, October 22nd 2021 between 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 155 West Parkway, Pompton Plains at 10:00 am.
