Charles H. Trautwein, 93, of Pequannock, passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2021.
Chuck was one of three children born to Charles and Theresa Trautwein. After graduating from Andrew Jackson High School in Queens NY, Chuck proudly served in the United States Navy as a weapons specialist servicing Avenger Torpedo Bombers. He married Marion Jakub in 1949 and the couple eventually settled in Pequannock where they would raise nine children. Chuck and his wife Marion were longtime parishioners of Holy Spirit RC Church in Pequannock. After retiring by the age of 60 from a successful career in sales, Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family, and tending to his garden. He was an avid fly fisherman with a deep appreciation of the outdoors.
Chuck is survived by his children, Christine Anderson, Robert and his wife Judy, James and his wife Anna, Jayne Hungate and her husband Bruce, Kenneth, Marian Molner, Charles and his wife Lorraine, Richard and his wife Christine and Linda Kiser and her husband Gary; his brother, Edward; his sister, Ann Tarzia; 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, July 16 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am on Saturday at Holy Spirit RC Church, Pequannock. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Magnificat Cemetery, Kinnelon.
