Obituary of Maureen P. Greco
Maureen Patricia Greco, 79, of Clifton, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2021.
Maureen was born on February 22, 1941 in New York City. She spent her early years growing up in Elizabeth, NJ before moving to Clifton where she met the love of her life, Lawrence Greco and were married in 1962. The couple remained in Clifton to raise their five children. While raising her family she earned her degree as an LPN and worked at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson for nearly 30 years where she was dedicated to helping people.
Maureen enjoyed spending time reading books and relaxing at the beach, especially at her summer home on the North Fork of Long Island, where many wonderful memories were made. Above all else, Maureen was devoted to her family and loved being surrounded by all of her grandchildren, her family, and all of her friends.
Maureen was predeceased by her loving parents John and Margaret Woods and her beloved son John K. Greco. Maureen is devotedly survived by her husband, Lawrence R. Greco, Jr.; her children, Lawrence J. Greco and his wife Janice, Patricia Greco, AnnMarie Ferrante and her husband Tom and Thomas Greco and his wife Lisa, her dear sister, Judy Resch and her fiancé Doug Longworth and her cherished grandchildren, Alicia Ferrante, Nicolette Ferrante, Jonathan Greco, Jacqueline Greco, Jack Ferrante, Tommy Greco, and Matthew Greco, many friends, and her loved pet Casey dog.
With the maximum capacity of 50 guests at the funeral home, in accordance with Gov. Murphy’s executive order, and at the request of the family, all visitors are expected to wear masks and to practice social distancing. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A Private funeral service will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home and Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, in Paterson. A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be scheduled in the Spring on behalf of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations be made in Maureen’s memory to Eva’s Village, 16 Spring Street, Paterson, NJ.
