Jeam always had a smile for me at the local hair salon where we both got our hair "styled". She would put up with my humor, I think it reminder her of her son Jim. She was certainly surrounded by a loving family and they will miss her. May Jeam rest in peace.

We McAleers lived 2 doors down from the McMichaels on Oak Street back in the '60's and throughout the years, it has been wonderful to keep in touch. "Mrs. McMichael" (yes, still after all these years--we couldn't shake it even as adults, ha) welcomed us into her home with cheer and song as children. The laughter, fun and love at the McMichael home was a joy to share during our times with them. When our mom was having successive babies (we both had big families) we knew we'd get the special treat of staying with the McMichaels. Sparklers on July 4th, hanging out in the pool, snacks and more snacks, and that wonderful smile and laugh are just a few memories I hold in my heart. Love to all the McMichaels at this very difficult time. As you may know, we lost our mom on Dec. 27th, so we hope they're up there in heaven having a laugh together.Hugs!

Jean was a sweet woman. Always with a smile as we sat and talk when I went to give her communion each week. She also was in my deceased Husband ,Neils high school group, from St Marys in Totowa.
She will be missed.

Jean was a beautiful person. As a kid I always enjoyed going to “ Cousin Jean and Jim’s “ house. Their home was always filled with love and laughter. Jean and Jim were always present at the milestones in my life and were so supportive during the difficult times. I am forever grateful for that. I will miss her.

RIP Mrs. McMichael. You and your husband were always welcoming and supportive to me during my years on the Riverdale council. Your smiling face always stood out in a crowd and you were always surrounded by your loving family. You will be missed.

Lovely tribute! I had forgotten about that great pool in the backyard, and it also reminded me of picking green beans with Uncle Jim (and being delighted to eat them right off the stalk!) I loved getting to sleep over Aunt Jean’s to hang with my super cool, older cousins. Aunt Jean AlWAYS called me Jenny, including my last visit to her a few months ago. And her spectacular laugh will stay with me forever.

Mary E.,
Thank you so very much for your condolences. It means so much to us all. We have such great memories of you and your parents - they always had such fun when there was a graduation party or some festive celebration at Oak St. It is a lovely thought that your parent's mine and the McAleers are all reminiscing over old Riverdale memories.
PS - the ham was spectacular just perfect for us and totally appreciated as we all returned to work today!
Love to you, Sharon
