Wendelin Brendli

Wendelin Brendli, 85, of Kinnelon, passed away on February 4, 2020.

 

Born in Hamroth, Romania, Wendel came to the US with his family in 1950.  He married Helen Mutter in 1958 and the couple settled in Clifton to raise their children.  Wendel was a talented ceramic tile contractor and owner and operator of W. Brendli Tile Company.  Upon retirement, Wendel and Helen would split their time between their homes in Kinnelon and Palm Coast, FL.  

 

Wendel was an avid hunter and tennis player, but his true passion was for soccer.  He was a member of Sportfriends for 69 years and also served as Vice President.  Wendel was also a member and Vice President of the Sathmarer Society.

 

Wendel is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Helen; his children, Ken Brendli and his wife Stacy, Dianne DeIntinis and her husband Joe, Wendel Brendli and his wife Kathy, Jamie Brendli and his wife April, and Denise DeMichelli and her husband Anthony; his sisters, Mary Leili, Elisabeth Kleine, and Rose Welsh and her husband Charles; his brother in-law, Martin Mutter and his wife Maria; and his grandchildren, Mitchell, Damon and Christian Brendli, Justin, Brian and Nicole DeIntinis, Amanda, Drew and Ryan Brendli, Jenica, Jeremy, and Maverick Brendli, and Jared and Eric DeMichelli.

 

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm Friday, February 7 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.  A funeral Mass will be held 9:30 am Saturday at St. Anthony's RC Church, Butler.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
