Virginia D. Butler, 96, of Towaco, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2018.
She was born on December 20, 1921 in New York City to the late Thomas and Mary McDonnell.
In 1947 Virginia married Dominic Butler and they raised four children together. Following Dominic’s retirement they moved to Manahawkin, NJ and later to Florida. They then returned to NJ.
Virginia enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. While in Florida she took up golfing and became the party planner for the Heather Community Club. Virginia will be best remembered as the first one on the dance floor and the life of the party.
Virginia is lovingly survived by her children, Dominic and his wife Halina, Richard and his wife Rosemary, Robert, Eileen Emmerich and her husband Tom; her grandchildren, Ryan and his wife Melinda, Kyle, Christine, Danny, Kevin and Katie, her great-grandchildren Emily and Eric, as well as her four legged grandchild Casey.
Visiting hours will be Thursday from 3:00-7:00 at Scanlan’s Funeral Home in Pompton Plains, NJ. A funeral mass will be held 9:30 at St Mary’s RC Church in Pompton Lakes. Final disposition will be private.
