Jennifer W. Casey (nee Grimbilas), 47, of Pompton Plains, passed away on August 4, 2017. Jen was a graduate of Pequannock Township High School and earned an Associates degree in Applied Science, Fashion Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in Manhattan. After graduating, Jen enjoyed a fulfilling career as a textile designer in New York City before deciding that her most important job was that of being a mother. In order to spend more time with her kids, she started her own Vintage Clothing and Design Company, Kitty Design in 2007. Jen saw beauty in the mundane, art in the distressed and inspiration in things that most of us walk past. She was a creative, beautiful, loving soul who only wanted to see the good and leave the rest for someone else. She was the best……
Jennifer is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph; her cherished sons, Connor, Owen and Nolan; her parents, Sherrie and Russell VanWhy and Peter and Lynn Grimbilas; her siblings, Lisa Lazarski (Kevin), Lauren Mariconda (Stephen) and William DeMio (Danielle); her grandmother, Lillian Grimbilas; her father in-law, Cornelius Casey; her brothers in-law, Eugene Casey (Sandi) and Patrick Casey (Doreen); her sister in-law, Karen Gill (Richard); her nieces, Julia, Keara, Faith and Nicole; her nephews, Sean, Robert, Thomas, Collin, Ryan, Carter, Parker and Billy; numerous god children and her beloved dog, Ollie.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 & 6-9 pm on Tuesday, 8/8 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 9 am on Wednesday at St. Mary's RC Church, Pompton Lakes. Burial will follow at the First Reformed Church Cemetery, Pompton Plains.
