Elisabeth "Beth" Rozgonyi, 52, a longtime resident of Pequannock, died at home Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in the care of her loving family.
Born in Oradell, she was raised in Pompton Plains, and was a graduate of Pequannock Township High School. While visiting friends, she was introduced to Glenn Rozgonyi. The two instantly hit it off, and on September 19,1987, they married.
Settling in Pequannock, the couple soon started their family. Blessed with two sons and a daughter, Beth was committed to staying at home to raise them. She adored her family and worked hard for them. A gifted cook, she was always known for the delicious meals she provided for her family. Her greatest love was to be with them, quietly at home (or for one week a year, at the beach in Cape May).
Beth was an incredibly strong-willed woman. A diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer six years ago did not slow her down much at all; in fact, she biked 30+ miles down the Delaware River Bike Path with her husband, kayaked the ocean while vacationing down the shore, and attended every family get-together throughout her illness and treatment. She loved her life and was committed to squeezing everything out of it that she could.
Beth is lovingly survived by her husband of 30 years, Glenn; her children, Brian and his fiancé Stephanie Tedeschi, John, and Jessica; her mother, Lois; and her siblings, Thomas, Douglas, James and Patricia McDonald. She was predeceased by her father, Robert McDonald, and her brother, Robert McDonald Jr.
Visiting hours will be Saturday from 1-5 pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Elisabeth's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the Rozgonyi family.
