Michael Circkot, 90, of Clifton, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 4, 2017 in Passaic, NJ.
Born in Eynon, PA, Michael was the son of John and Anne Cirkota. Serving in the Navy during World War II, he later settled in NJ, spending his career as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years. Michael enjoyed flying his glider and won a Society of America Award, Silver Badge in 1978. Michael was also a member of the I-26 Association, a division of Society of America. He also graduated from Juilliard Music School, where his joy of playing the accordion helped him form a band and open a music school in Garfield.
Michael is lovingly survived by: His grandchildren, Billy Begyn of Kennilworth, NJ, Jonathan Begyn of Pompton Plains, NJ, Laura Gianino of Verona, NJ, JeanMarie Santiago and Barry Herscap of Florida. His partner, Jean Begyn, of over 30 years is deceased.
A graveside service will be held 2 pm Friday, December 8 at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
