Richard G. Thomson, 72, of Pompton Plains, formerly a longtime resident of Clifton, died Sunday, January 31, 2010.

Born in Passaic, Richard, a U.S Navy Veteran, was the son of the late George and Sylvia Thomson. Living most of his life in Clifton, he worked for the Pantasote Corp. in Passaic for 26 years and for the Clifton Board of Education for another 13 years, retiring in 2002.

Richard loved spending time at the "jersey" shore, especially at his daughter's home in Cape May.  He also was a fanatical Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankee fan.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Sally; his daughter, Jill Bobinski and her husband Alex of Kinnelon; his son Richard of San Diego; and his adored grandchildren, Ashley, Victoria and Alex Bobinski and Ian Thomson. He was predeceased by his brother, George.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
