Katherine Webster, 90, of Sammamish, WA, formerly if Kinnelon and a longtime resident of Manhattan, died Saturday, January 23, 2010.

Born in New York City, Katherine was raised in Manhattan, the daughter of Kimon and Catherine Gallan. Marrying John Webster on September 5, 1942, the couple raised their three children in Manhattan. While caring for her children, Katherine worked part-time for St. Columba RC Church in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. After her children were grown, she worked as a Secretary for Metropolitan Life until retiring. An active parishioner of St. Columba Church, she was a member of its St. Ann Guild.

Moving to Kinnelon, she was formerly a parishioner of Our Lady of Magnificat RC Church there before moving to Sammamish 14 months ago.

Katherine is survived by her children, Robert Webster and his wife Catherine, John Webster and his wife Frances, and Christina Kijak; her sister, Mary Magone; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Our Lady of Magnificat Chapel, Kinnelon. Burial will follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY. Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.
