U.S. Veteran

William G. Klaus, 70, of Wanaque, formerly of Lyndhurst, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012.


Born in Jersey City, William was the son of William C. and Margaret (nee Mitsch) Klaus. William proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He later worked at the Englewood Cliffs Post Office.


He is survived by his brother, Frederick Mitsch of Birkenau, Germany; his sister, Marilyn Kaiser and her husband Kent of Pequannock; his nephews, Kevin Kaiser and Brian Kaiser; his niece, Susan Wild; and his great niece/nephews Paige, Michael, Derek, Darren and Andrew.


A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan 19, at Sacred Heart RC Church, Lyndhurst. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.
