Carmela Tagliareni, 92, of Pompton Plains, formerly of Bayonne, died Saturday, January 7, 2012.

Born in Jersey City, Carmela was the daughter of John and Josephine Scrudato. Marrying Joseph Tagliareni, the couple raised two children together.

In addition to caring for her family, Carmela worked as a Clerk for the Bayonne Police Department.

Carmela is lovingly survived by her daughter, Carol Hillenbrand; her brothers, Jaryy and John Scrudato; her sisters, Lena, Lillian, and Dolores; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her son, Joseph, her brother, Manny, and her sister, Helen.

Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home from 9a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Burial will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
