Yolanda Campanali, 101, of Manchester, passed away on January 6, 2012. Born in New York City on July 19, 1910, Yolanda was the daughter of Francesco and Lucrezia Landolfi.
Her love was her family. Her secret was wine. Her weakness was sweets. Her pastime was the Yankees. As one of their longest-time fans, she attended games since the ‘20s and followed them every year through last season.
Always warm and welcoming, she had a way of reminding everyone of what was most important in life. Extremely perceptive, she was an amazing woman blessed with extraordinary strength, wit, and heart. Unbelievably caring, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who was completely adored and will forever remain her family’s North Star.
Yolanda is survived by her daughters, Catherine Lombardo and her husband William and Marie Campanali; her sister, Josephine Tricard; her grandchildren, Denise Hoag and her husband Dan, Karen Losover, Bill Campanali, Danielle Campanali and her fiancé Peter Ramm, Keith Campanali and his fiancée Renée Snelson, and Debbie Campanali; her great grandchildren, Danny, Sarah, Dario, and Claudia; and her great-great grandson, Julian. She was predeceased by her grandson, Christopher Lombardo, who is survived by his wife, Christine.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, January 10 at St. Mary's RC Church, Pompton Lakes. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. The family will receive visitors on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.
