Frank Rauch

Frank Rauch, 69, longtime resident of Pompton Plains, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012.
 
Born in Jersey City and raised in Hoboken, Frank was the son of George and Margaret Rauch. He proudly served in the US Army-Special Forces as a paratrooper. Frank worked as an airline mechanic for Pan American World Airlines and he was the head custodian for Caldwell/West Caldwell Board of Education.  In his free time, Frank enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles, listening to music, and watching the NY Mets and the NY Jets. An excellent cook, he was referred to by his family as “Master of the Grill.” Frank was a devoted husband, loving father and Pop Pop who cherished the time he spent with his family.
 
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; his daughters, Valerie and her husband Edward and Karen Constantino and her husband Sal; his brother, Louis; his sister, Mary Rizzo; and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Victoria, Sal, Ashley, Samantha, and Derek.  He was predeceased by his son, Robert.
 
A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 am Wednesday, January 4 at St. Mary’s RC Church, Pompton Lakes. Entombment will follow at Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Tuesday, January 3 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory can be made to Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
